Tools & Materials

  • Dulux Design Metallic or Design Pearl paint
  • Quality masking tape: Scotch-Blue™ Painter’s Tape for Multi-Surfaces from 3M
  • A paint stirrer and drop sheet
  • An effects roller or a brush may be used
  • 10mm medium nap roller
  • Roller tray
  • A variety of paint brushes (including a 100mm or wider for the brush technique)


Metallic and Pearl effects paints are ideal for interior feature walls such as hallways, bedrooms and living areas. They are also perfect for use on doors, furniture and interior accessories.

Both Dulux Design Metallic and Dulux Design Pearl will give a feature wall a modern update. Dulux Design Metallic has a polished metallic shine that reflects the light in your room. Dulux Design Pearl adds an extra dimension of radiance to walls with a pearly, satin finish. These paints can be applied with a roller or brush depending on the look you’re after.
