A new take on decorating the mantel with books — without the need for bookends!

Step 1 Tear away the cover and back of a book you don't mind parting with, leaving the paper interior and bound spine.

Step 2 Fold over top right hand corner of first page until upper edge lies against spine edge of book. Then, fold over lower corner until right edge sits along edge of first fold, forming a point.

Step 3 Repeat Step 2 on every page to create the distinctive bell shape. With the volume of the paper the spine of the book will curve naturally and create a full circle.

Step 4 To finish the bell, superglue the front and back edges of the spine together, permanently completing the circle
