Who needs expensive artwork when you can make your own from a selection of pretty, colourful knobs? We created a heart, but choose any design you wish.
Mark up MDF to desired size. Cut out using handsaw. Smooth with sandpaper.
Paint both sides of MDF panel.
Draw your desired shape (we chose a heart) on paper with pencil, then turn paper face down onto panel. Trace over lines of drawing with pencil, applying firm pressure to imprint shape on panel.
Drill the first hole on the line drawing, insert knob and secure with washer and bolt. Repeat with remaining knobs.
When spacing out the knobs, ensure you measure from the middle of each.
Trim back of knobs close to bolt with pliers. You may need to use an angle grinder if the pliers won't cut through.
To hang up, loop picture hanging wire around 2 protruding knob screws on the back of the artwork and secure with strong gaffer tape. Voila!
