Materials
Old bottles & jars
Norton 36mm double-sided tape, $5.92 for 4.5m, Bunnings.
Scissors
Balls of wool in assorted colours
Hot-glue gun & glue gun stick
Flowers
Step 1
Collect bottles in various shapes and sizes. Ensure they are clean and dry.
Step 2
Cut a piece of double-sided tape long enough to wrap around the neck of your first bottle. If the tape roll is wide, cut tape again, lengthways this time, to form a narrower strip. Cut new tape (narrow is better again) in strips the length of bottle and tape vertically down bottle, spacing about 2cm apart. Remove tape backing when ready to wrap with wool.
Step 3
Start wrapping desired wool colour around the bottle. To ensure a neat finish, overlap the raw end of the wool underneath itself as you go.
Step 4
Using scissors, cut the first wool colour where you wish it to end. Then, repeat step 3, wrapping the new wool colour around the bottle ensuring you cover the end of the previous colour with the new one.
Step 5
When the bottle is covered, use a few dots of hot glue to secure the end of the wool to bottle, finishing it nicely.
Step 6
Carefully fill vases with water, so as not to soak wool. Leave them empty or fill with flowers for an extra hit of colour.
