Paints we used
Dulux Wash & Wear Semi Gloss in Golden Rod (orange), $40.95 for 1L.
Wattyl Interior Design i.d in Colorbond Night Sky (black), and in Tennis White, each $28.90 for 1L.
To create a strong impact in our hallway we painted the top half of the wall in a Hermés-inspired orange and the lower half in a punchy black and white herringbone design. For the zigzags, we painted the bottom half of the wall white and when dry marked the wall at 20cm intervals horizontally, and 10cm vertically. With a pencil and ruler we then drew a line from the bottom left hand corner ascending to the first point 20cm across, and 10cm high, then marked a descending line from 10cm high to 40cm across, and so on. The areas to be painted black were masked off with tape and painted (download the pattern above).
