Bathrooms are a common clutter spot but there's no need for mess if you utilise these clever space-saving storage tricks.

Shelve it

Ensure cabinet shelving is adjustable. That way you can maximise space by placing items of one height on each shelf.

Show it off

Strapped for space? Store your product in a pretty vanity case. Your bathroom is so tiny you don't even have room for that? Pick up a toiletries bag with clear pockets, fill it with beauty products and makeup and hang it on the back of the door. If you prefer the minimalist look or don't want your beauty secrets on display, drape a robe over it.

Crystal clear

Another way to save space and time is to store smaller toiletries in clear Perspex boxes so you don't spend hours hunting for them.

Hang out

Store kids' bath toys in a mould-resistant mesh container that can be hung over the tap so they don't look a mess or go mouldy.

Basket case

Hunt down lovely baskets for face washers, hair accessories or whatever you want to hide away.

Airhead

If you have a wall mounted cabinet with nothing but air between them and the ceiling, store rarely used items on top in plastic boxes. Just don't make them too heavy!

Up, up and away

Still desperate for room? Go up. Use an old luggage rack or ladder to drape towels and clothes from and, if you're feeling creative, add some favourite necklaces to pretty it up.
