While I was in Asia I collected some large fans that I'd like to hang on a wall. How do I do this?
It's hard to give an answer without seeing the fans but I presume they have bamboo ribs. I suggest you buy some screw eyes or an Ikea picture-hanging kit, which contains screw eyes. Take a fan and open it. Drill holes into the furthest outstretched rib on each side and twist a screw eye into each hole. Slip the screw eyes over picture hooks on the wall. Repeat for the other fans. If the fans are lightweight and you don't want to mark the wall, use double-sided tape or Blu-Tack attached to the ribs. However, your best bet is to have the fans mounted in a Perspex shadow box by a picture framer.

When I first read the title of this article, I thought it was going to be about mounting a real decorative fan on the wall. You know, like the old-fashioned Punkah fans they have at www.myfan.com.au
