A member of the cabbage family, cauliflower is much more versatile - and tasty! Great raw or cooked, it's a fave addition to stir fries, soups and salad - even platters of fresh vegies served with dip. A good source of vitamin C to help with healing and keeping healthy gums, they're also stacked with folate - particularly great if you're pregnant or trying!

Selecting & storing

Look for cauliflower with white heads and no brown bits. Florets should be tightly packed together with fresh-looking green leaves. To store, remove the outside leaves, store in a plastic bag in the crisper for three to four days.

Try this treat:

Chop up some cauliflower, a carrot, broccoli and green beans. Boil until tender. In a saucepan, blend a dab of butter, one and a half cups of milks and two tablespoons of plain flour. Stir in 125g grated cheese until smooth. Pop the vegies in at the end until warm and enjoy alone or as a side dish!
