The outstanding feature in Jenna and Josh's bathroom was definitely the stylish tapware. It was a real find and set whole room off. I also liked the mirror, and the Caesarstone benchtops in the laundry. It proves that little details and finishes can really take a room to that next level. I'm really impressed that each week these two seem to be pushing themselves more and more whilst remaining true to their original vision, because consistency is so important if the rooms are going to work together as a whole. My only criticism this week is that the execution of the room has let them down... it seems like they were in a bit of a hurry. It could be more polished.
Polly and Waz's bathroom showed real improvement and the outstanding feature was without doubt the vanity. It was a cut above what one normally expects. This room was definitely more spectacular than their previous attempts. It's good to see them taking our feedback and improving. The two shower heads were a clever addition... an unusual choice but probably snazzy enough to really impress potential buyers. In the laundry, the expansive benchtop and rod above the sink show that these guys really thought about the space and its functionality. Laundries are tricky; people forget how much you use the laundry in day-to-day life — it's so important to get them right, for your own sanity. This is a really great article to help the planning of this vital room.
Katrina and Amie definitely have a very strong signature style, and while it may not be to everyone's tastes, they do it well and stick to their unique look week in and week out. In a bathroom with so much 'pizazz', the amazing feature had to be the silver tiled wall. It really lifted the whole room and made it seem more of a destination than simply a place to get clean. The artwork, the feature wall, the accessories... everything in this space contributed to lifting it above the level of a regular run-of-the-mill washroom. It's becoming more common these days to create impressive bathrooms that are designed for you to actually spend time in. This article has excellent tips on how to create a bathroom sanctuary of your own. Their laundry? Well... it does the job.
When one designs a bathroom it's only fitting that the amazing feature be the bath, and the tub in Rod and Tania's room was extraordinary. These two have taken our advice on board and are really starting to embrace the 'less is more' concept, and it's working. This room had everything — design, quality, and the all-important wow factor. For the first time one couple has won on all three counts. The vanity was absolutely stunning, and the way they managed to fit so much into such a limited space, without it becoming crowded, is admirable. But it wasn't just the bathroom; the laundry was equally as impressive. A big win for Rod and Tania this week.
