Amie went straight to their designer wallpaper above the bed, with its grey circle pattern on a pale background: "It reflects us and the industrial/modern theme we've tried to establish throughout the house."
The other dominant feature of the bedroom was the towering wall of storage — a wardrobe with floor-to-ceiling doors, mirrored on the inside with drawers and shelves, all hidden behind a gloss white exterior.
On the other side of the room Katrina proudly displayed the wall-mounted flat screen television and full length mirror, angled against the corner: "We thought these were two must-haves for a master bedroom. And the TV was actually our biggest bargain, bought second hand, it was a real find."
The strong colour palette was evident in the choice of contrasting dark curtains over the windows.
The whole effect was consistent with their ethic of smooth, industrial yet quirky.
Again the judges were in a quandary over the sisters' eclectic styling choices. Neale didn't like the wallpaper: "I can see what they're trying to do but this falls a bit wide of the mark. It's not a design choice I'd recommend. It's too polarising."
John didn't entirely agree: "I think it may be a reflection of their sense of humour. It's a shame because the rest of the room is very stylish and well executed."
John, predictably, liked the high wardrobe doors: "If it reaches the ceiling it gets my vote. It's also what punters like these days."
Overall the judges appreciated some of the styling and finishes but found fault with other decisions. It probably cost a couple of points.

The girls put a lot of thought into planning their ensuite and hoped to make the most out of a small space. A major decision was the inclusion of impressive mirrors, stretching all the way to the ceiling. They were Amie's favourite feature: They maximise the natural light and create a sense of space. I think they're really classy and they just 'make' the room."
She also commented on the funky toilet and smaller vanity — matching downstairs but suited to the smaller room.
Katrina wanted to point out the thought behind the choice of bath and shower: "We put a shower over the full bath but with the same palette and tile theme — greys and whites. It's consistent with what we did downstairs and flows through to the master bedroom."
The final touch was the carefully chosen piece of wall-art, selected for its industrial look and sympathetic colours.
John was careful in his choice of words: "They've included some nice touches. As you know, I particularly like floor-to-ceiling finishes and I'm pleased to see they've done that."
Neale was also pleased with the girls' efforts: "I like their use of mirrors. It shows a confidence with light. And I think the use again of the tiles for continuity is wise." Both men commented on the clever use of a black blind to create a more dramatic effect.
Neale summed up their feelings about the ensuite: "While these girls have always tended to be a bit eclectic I think they've shown discipline here, especially with the muted palette. It's good to see them reigning it in a bit and not being too wacky."
