All four couples had a lot of work to do to prepare for the biggest delivery on The Block to date: the main bedroom and en-suite. They're also competing for a double prize of $10,000.
Despite some early wins, Jenna and Josh began to feel real budget pressure. Jenna was edgy: “This week’s rooms are costing us a motza. It’s going to be great but I’m really worried about how we’ll pay our tradies. I have no idea how Polly and Waz have managed to stay in the race.”
Next door, in house #2 Waz had the same concerns: “Polly and I have yet to win a room and I gotta’ tell you; we are really desperate. I hope we can win something soon. I’m just so pleased that our builder, Shiran, is so together. He’s brilliant.”
“The plasterer took one look at the top floors and just walked off. I was totally stuck. I had to call on my boys.”
His sons came and helped.
But others thought it was not very sporting. Amie didn’t think it was fair: “What if it was Polly and Waz, they don’t have a son or a family to help them out, neither do we.”
Josh had another run-in with site manager, Keith: “Josh thinks he’s different to everybody else and he doesn’t have to conform. He’s NOT cleaning up on-site like he’s supposed to. It’s a safety issue.”
A plumber was also left waiting for a day because Josh would not move sheets of Gyprock, a twenty-minute job according to Keith. They both locked horns and neither would budge. Keith had had enough: “I’ve tried to help him out but not anymore.”
So, with the competition heating up, all eyes are on the big prize $10,000. Who will walk away with the cash?
