Polly and Waz, the least experienced of the couples, have learned a vast amount working on The Block. When Scott Cam dropped in for a pep talk he warned them that the final week's delivery was promising to be an enormous challenge.
While Polly accepted they'd get no sleep, she caught Waz eating instead of working: "Hey, I can't think straight without my working nuts," he said in his defence. Nuff said, really.
After their surprise last-placing in the previous room delivery, the power couple decided to rip out their living room and do it all over again — while also having to deliver their kitchen and dining room.
Josh was driven: "We were really thrown by what the judges said about our living room. But it's all gotta go. Time for a rethink."
The exteriors — the front of houses and back yards and decks — is expected to be the most punishing delivery of the entire series, and some couples are planning how they might tackle it.
Jenna and Josh and Katrina and Amie took time out from their kitchens to find inspiration in the facades of some of Melbourne's beautiful terrace houses.
Despite the tightness of work schedules the sisters wanted the other girls to come along for something special at 3pm. They told Jenna, Polly and Tania to meet them out front for a surprise.
Amie explained: "We girls have lived without any comforts for weeks now and I think we need to treat ourselves to something special."
With that in mind they donned swimwear and headed off to the Crown Metropol Hotel.
The girls treated themselves to a day-spa, champagne, manicures, massages and a spa. In the meantime the boys got up to no good at The Block.
It was a delightful break from the relentless rigours of renovating. But they were all soon back to the grind. A room delivery looms!
