The couples packed up their bags and bid a tearful farewell to their houses — but Scott Cam had one final challenge up his sleeve.
He sent the couples a text message instructing them to assemble back where it all began — Carpenter's Lane in Melbourne.
When they arrived it was case of deja vu with the challenge master Shelley Craft waiting to give them their orders: "And 'order' is the crucial word," she said. "Over the next two days we are sorting out the all-important auction-order."
Scotty planned a two-day game with the couples called "What Do You Know?" How well do they know The Block and how well do they know Melbourne? The teams would be scored on their performances in a series of tests, with the winners taking the right to choose their order in the auction.
Josh knew this was absolutely crucial: "Jenna and I had to win because going first in the auction could win us The Block."
After receiving their first clue from Shelley Craft the couples were off to Brighton Beach, where they were tasked with building four of the iconic changing sheds — that have been known to sell for as much as $250,000.
Scotty revealed that the first couple to complete their "beach box" would win 100 points, the second would win 75 points, third 50 points, and fourth just 25 points.
Amie was over renovating and just couldn't get into the swing of things: "This is worse than labour. I'd rather be giving birth right now."
After a neck-and-neck race to the finish the winners were Josh and Jenna (100 points) and the runners-up Polly and Waz (75 points). In third place was Rod and Tania (50 points), and lucky last was Katrina and Amie (25 points).
