Brad and Lara felt like they were on the back-foot from the start, and they knew their room would struggle to take out a win. But as judging day inched closer, they became more confident.
"We were really happy with our room – we thought it looked really good," Lara admits.
So to come last was an understandable blow.
"We were The Chumps – Rod even came and presented us with hats!" Lara laughs.
"We were really disappointed," Brad adds. "The judges said our room didn't have enough soul. They wanted it to be more cozy. But in our elimination room they told us 'less is more.' Now, apparently, we went too much the other way and they wanted stuff on the shelves."
Needless to say they're as confused as ever about where to go next. But despite this, they don’t regret turning their first room into a sitting area.
"We were chumps so the judges may not have thought it was a good idea, but we got told from the agents not to have a fourth bedroom, so I am happy we stayed with that," Brad says.
"And if you have guests over, you can always move the kids," Lara adds.
Their favourite thing: Their use of technology. "We had a brand new Smart TV. The judges didn't say anything to us about it, but hopefully they noticed," Brad says.
What they thought of the boys' fold-down bed: "I wouldn't have done it – I was surprised," Brad admits. "I thought it seemed a bit tacky – like something out of a dodgy movie! But when I saw it, it was awesome. Dani jumped straight on it, and it was comfy as!"
