As Scott was calling time on their rooms this week, it was a very despondent Dani and Dan who skulked out of their house.
"I feel like we lost our mojo this week," Dani admits. "We knew right from the start that we weren't going to win this week."
From the get-go, the couple admit they struggled, mostly over executing ideas for their hallway. At the last minute they decided to make changes to the archway — and it was downhill from there.
"The judges didn't like our downstairs at all," Dan admits. "We did a square look and it didn't work."
Dani was keen to keep the arch from the start, but some persuasive builders had them second-guessing.
"The plasterers said they didn't want to do that. They hadn't done it much, and that got me worried straight away, that they were going to try and do it, so I told them to do the square," Dan admits.
It was a decision that cost the couple valuable points.
"I love the colour and I think the pictures are incredible — the Lego Block, I’m not so excited about," Shaynna admitted upon seeing their hall. "It feels like it's imposing on you."
Upstairs it was a much more positive reaction, with all three judges admitting they liked the couple's cute teenage girl's bedroom.
"I feel really good about the bedroom, probably because I did it all myself," Dani admits. "The hallway was such a massive task that I said to Dan, 'I'll do the room — it's small and white, how can I go wrong?'"
Dani's decision to use a wallpaper feature wall was a hit with the judges, with Neil particularly taken with what she had achieved.
"I think for how small the space is, they have actually utilised it really well," he admitted.
Their favourite thing: The wallpaper. "It's from a company called Six Hands," Dani explains.
