They came Chumps this week, but Dani and Dan are still thrilled with the way their kitchen came up — and the judges were too.

"It's fantastic and opens up beautifully into the lounge," Shaynna said, upon stepping into their completed kitchen area.

"It's simple, clean, modern and functional," Neale added.

Styling has always been one of this couple's strengths, and this week was no different, with the judges remarking that their pristine space would fit comfortably in the pages of a glossy magazine — or a Jamie Oliver cookbook.

It was music to Dani’s ears!

"Their feedback was great," she says. "I absolutely love our kitchen. I want to live here so I can use it!"

The only thing they weren't so thrilled about — and what, ultimately, lost points for them — was their sink space.

"I like recessed sinks, especially when they are integrated into such an important space. I think if they could have found a way to recess this a few millimetres under the bench, that would have made it more practical," John commented.

But overall, it was positive feedback all round. And this week, perhaps for the first time, Dani and Dan aren't too concerned to be wearing the chump hat.

"We know we presented a top-notch room," Dani says.

And, most importantly — their Room Saver meant they could finally go back and fix that pesky arch in their hallway.

"It's finally gone — thank God!" Dan laughs.
