They might have come fourth, but Dani and Dan are still happy with the score they received for their outdoor space. And in any other week, their points would have been enough to get them across the line.
"Any other week and a score like that could have got us a win," Dan points out. "But we don't even mind anymore — we love our courtyard and we think buyers will too."
The judges, fans of Dani and Dan's styling throughout the series, were impressed with what the couple managed to achieve again this week in their limited space, with all three effusive in their praise of their urban oasis.
"I like the focus of those beautiful Maples in the corner — absolutely stunning," said Shaynna upon stepping outside.
"I like the use of the screens — it's actually given a nice sense of privacy," John agreed. "Even though we're in a fairly dense area in inner-city Melbourne, it does have that feeling of privacy and tranquility."
The other thing the judges particularly liked was their large BBQ.
"Well, it's not really a barbie, it's an outdoor kitchen," Neale was quick to point out. "I like what they've done."
As well as this, the couple chose to add a sense of outdoor warmth with the inclusion of a small fire pit — something else that impressed the judges.
"I think everyone should have a fire pit — there's something about fire that just mesmerises you," Shaynna noted.
Overall, their space was a success, and Dani and Dan couldn't be happier.
"I can't believe we've actually finished. We love our house and we don't want to leave," says Dani.
