When The Block 2012 couples took to the racing circuit in a bid to win more money, none of them were prepared for the ferocious speed of the professional drivers least of all poor Sophie!
Last week the Blockheads battled it out at Broadford Motorsport Circuit with the hope of turning their need for cash into a need for speed.
The couples powered around the circuit with professional racing drivers at the wheel of the sporty Suzukis provided for the challenge, before entering the competition to make the fastest lap.
The stakes were high with $6000 in cash up-for-grabs much needed for the final week of the couples' renovation projects.
It was an uncomfortable test-run for Sophie whose nerves couldn't stand the pace she stopped-short their circuit and shakily declared "I was really excited when we got here... but after we got in with the professional driver and he took-off it was like the rollercoaster all over again!"
The final leaderboard saw Mike and Andrew take the first place prize of $2500, Dale and Sophie followed close behind in second place with $2000, Dan and Dani took third position and $1000 cash (with Dan's pride intact for having beaten Dani's time) and Brad and Lara were last but awarded $500 for their effort better than a wooden spoon!
