It was a controversial decision, and one that's earning them ire from contestants and viewers alike. But Shaynna Blaze says the judges don't regret their decision to award first place to the brothers for their master bedroom and ensuite.
"It was simple - the others had design faults," she says. "Someone said that Brad and Lara were upset because the brother's hadn't finished properly, but finishing off is a minor thing that can be fixed. The other rooms had design faults that will cost money to fix."
She's right - over at house number two they're not happy.
"It's outrageous," says Brad, only half-joking. "We're gutted."
"The negative was our door. It doesn't actually swing both ways," Lara admits. "But the boys' door doesn’t open either."
But it wasn't just the door that ended up seeing them lose out on a win.
"It was also the quality of the tiles they used," Shaynna explains.
Lara doesn't get it: "I wanted those white tiles," she says. "And they weren't cheap!"
And she’s annoyed the boys ended up winning when their room was still a long way to being fully finished.
"It had no door handles, the painting wasn't finished, they had stickers on the glass, their mirror was askew... and no towel rails!" she says. "We put the same glass in, at the same time, but Brad spent a lot of time putting our towel rails on."
But despite their protestations, the judges are still convinced they made the right decision.
"They were all strong rooms and one had to win," Shaynna says. "And the thing is, with the boys, their finishing was so minor that it wasn’t going to cost a bomb to do."
