You'd think they would be livid — losing out on first place to a couple who shouldn't rightfully have won. But, surprisingly, Mike and Andrew don't seem to have a problem with the fact Dan and Dani trumped them to first place.
"We're still stoked," says Andrew, philosophically. "The judges said we had the best room of the week. You can't ask for much more than that — other than $5000, which would have been nice!"
As for Dan and Dani, they’re not feeling the slightest bit guilty for having used their special Bonus Point token.
"We had seen Neil and John's scores, and we were tied with the boys," Dani explains. "We didn't want to take any chances, so it was like, 'Let's just use it.'"
"We were rapt that we ended up using it," Dan adds. "Because it was the right time and we didn’t throw it away. We were half a point behind in the end, so it was awesome."
As for the brothers, they're just pleased the judges liked their children's bedroom, a bold choice that appears to have paid off.
"We were a bit nervous about this. We thought as the plan said 'Guest bedroom' that we might have put ourselves at risk by going with something a bit bolder," Andrew explains.
"Given we're not interior designers, and we decided to do a kid's bedroom, we were worried we wouldn't get it right. But they liked it, so that's been great."
